Looking Forward Through 2009
For the past year the global economy has been less than kind to American families and American businesses, creating an environment that is based on fortitude and patience. In fact, this environment is causing many EMR vendors to suffer a reverse in business with slow sales and high failure rates. However, even in the shadow of these challenging times, UMC has maintained solid growth. Our sustained growth has allowed us to parlay our success into expanded services, additional support and training personnel and ultimately becoming an improved strategic partner to you, our Family of Users.
Furthermore, 2009 is on the horizon, and with it comes numerous exciting new offerings aimed at expanding our existing relationships and meeting the challenges of new opportunities. One such offering is our first UMC Annual Conference; CONNECTIONS. Others include a release of TCC 4.9 that will included numerous new features such as e-Prescribing, enhanced revenue cycle management tools and an interface to Informatics, more on this later.
In addition, we are continually exploring new ways to expand the dialog with our customers. Many of you have already enjoyed meeting Rebecca Robinson. She has joined the UMC team as Client Relations Coordinator. Her role is to serve as client advocate, providing a conduit of information between UMC and you, our customer. We see her role as integral and one that reaches beyond traditional support. Identifying practice challenges and coordinating their collective resolution among the various departments at UMC is her charge. It is our continual goal to meet the ever expanding needs of our customers. We intend to implement innovative ideas to be more accessible to our customers and their needs.
We look forward to the challenges and opportunities that 2009 will surely afford.
